International Food Microbiology Congress is Being Organized in Turkey for the First Time

23^rd FoodMicro2012 Congress to be organized at international level on the field of Food Microbiology will be organized in İstanbul. Organized on biennially basis and held in Denmark last year, the Congress shall be held on 3^rd - 7^th of September 2012 in Istanbul as hosted by Turkey.

Generally acknowledged to be one of the most prominent meetings of the world in the field of Food Microbiology, the Congress participants shall include numerous internationally recognized scientists, academicians and representatives from the public and private sector. The Congress shall have an extremely rich content not only in terms of scientific aspect, but also in terms of social aspect and intends to bring together participants coming from various countries with Turkish society through various activities. Chairman of Foodmicro2012 Organization Committee, Prof. Dr. Dilek Heperkan stated that the primary topic amongst the fundamental subjects to be addressed during the Congress shall be “prevention of deteriorations occurring at the foodstuff”, thus diminishing the economic losses, on one hand, while contributing to the problem of famine prevailing at some regions of the world on the other hand. Ensuring consumer safety, nanotechnology, alternate approaches for improvement of the food safety and food biotechnology as well as “microbial quality and safety of the dried fruits and foodstuff playing a role in the world trade” topics shall also be addressed and scrutinized by the worldwide experts and opportunities for peer - to - peer communication with the specialist speakers shall be provided. It is expected that the Congress shall have significant contribution to our country, to the international science society, and to the world trade and economy.
